At the 10th Community Media Network Meeting the members exchanged updates on the on-going tensions in the anglophone regions. The present community media agreed that there are distinct developments of the conflict in rural and urban areas, which more or less affect the work of media and journalists. However, common and generalisable topics and challenges were found such as increase in juvenile deliquency due to the strike, detoriation of the local economy or drop in financial income of media, but also family ties have been strengthened.

The community media agreed that there is even a higher necessity of peaceful dialogue and the media needs to adopt a conflict-sensitive reporting approach to highlight all the opinions in the current conflict, show the effects on the population and contribute with responsible reporting to a peaceful atmosphere.
